I wasn't going to write anything about the NASCAR Nextel Cup Awards banquet until I read this article and got REALLY pissed off.

Did you notice the drivers and NASCAR big-wigs were LAUGHING??

In my opinion, Jay Mohr was the ONLY interesting thing in that whole broadcast.
The rest was white-washed, political BS and PR ass kissing.
I can't even stand to watch a speech.
The best speech in the last five years was Will Farrell pretending to be Jeff Gordon last year and even THAT ticked off some fans, who obviously have nothing else to do but bitch about the fact that Jeff wasn't there. Unlike them Jeff actually HAS a life.

And excuse me...how does Jewel get a gig playing the banquet?
She's AWFUL. NASCAR isn't a folk-music sport.
How about a country act or some rock music. But JEWEL?
Obviously she gave Dale Jr a good 'nob to seal the deal.
And I thought Sheryl Crow being on there was brutal!

Well, by the look on the NASCAR clock there's 76 days, 1 hour and 19 minutes until Daytona.
Maybe some of those whinners on the NASCAR message board will have time to get a brain transplant between now and then.
