Some crew chiefs take their jobs WAY too seriously....

Explain it to Layne...

A few random and some angry observations from the All-Star weekend:
LOVED the intros. Why more teams don't dress up or throw souvenirs to the fans I don't understand. Next time guys, don't forget the fans to your right.
Was there a dry eye ANYwhere when Kyle Petty was named the driver the fans voted-in to the field? There wasn't at my house! That autographed guitar from the Peppers was a nice touch as well.
So many Roush cars in the field, I hope I can stay awake for this thing!
Where was Mark Martin's brain???? First he spins a team mate (he does know Jamie's part of his team, right?) and THEN he takes out Scott Riggs for no freakin reason.
And where was NASCAR's brain when Riggs was spinning on the track?!?!?!??! Hello genuises,..how about a caution flag???? Riggs had hands-down the BEST car in the field that night,...too bad the fools had to ruin it for him. And what's up with the no lucky dog rule? If this is a fans race, I think WE should decide the rules, don't you?
I'd personally like to thank Kasey Kahne for getting loose and taking that stupid, old prune into the wall. Not that I'm one for wrecks but I'm a fan of come-uppance! Of course, Mark was sure to verbally accost Kasey in the post-race interviews...I guess he needed something to over shadow his ignorant driving. Didn't work Mark, you were driving like a jerk and you knew it.
Well, it should make for an interesting 600....

Picture of the day

I've heard of Love-Hate relationships, but the one between Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick is a bit more "special" than I really need to know about! (Pardon me while I go look at something to help cleanse my mental pallet.)

In a vain attempt to keep up with his idol Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer brought his monkey down on pit road too.

WE'RE KIDDING, PACKY!!! You know we love you more than our luggage... XOXO

QUOTE OF THE YEAR (well, so far...)

I've been bashing the Roush dudes pretty routinely here but I will give them a tip of the hat when they deserve it. So here's the first tip..The Old Prune shows some spunk:

"In 1982 it was just a blast to race at Talladega, but in today's day and age it's hard to have fun when you know that the pin is out of the grenade. It's just a matter of time before it goes off."

Mark Martin, who finished 35th -- 88 laps down -- after being caught up in crash on Lap 9
